Sour grapes? Drama Club? These people need to get a grip. This is #WAR, so trivial pursuits like this are to be expected I suppose, but disappointing nonetheless.
(The Other McCain) Thus does John Fund dismiss an attempt by Nadia Naffe to create controversy around James O’Keefe III over a planned “sting” video that never happened, as embarrassing as the details may be.
O’Keefe, as you certainly know, is the young activist who became famous for his collaboration with Hannah Giles in the 2009 undercover videos that destroyed ACORN, and which sparked the successful launch ofAndrew Breitbart’s Big Government website. Naffe is a former Republican operative who worked with O’Keefe until, in March of this year, she accused O’Keefe of sexual harassment and worse.
Naffe had been ”terminated” by the Florida GOP in 2004, which led to a lawsuit that, if O’Keefe knew about it before he hired her, should have given him pause. Who would knowingly hire anyone whose former employment resulted in litigation? And this is especially true of someone whose work would require a high degree of confidentiality.
Another lovely example of how our President’s passivity and lack of backbone are detrimental to this country. Apparently it’s ‘not as bad as it sounds‘, but an issue nonetheless.
(Free Beacon) Hackers linked to China’s government broke into one of the U.S. government’s most sensitive computer networks, breaching a system used by the White House Military Office for nuclear commands, according to defense and intelligence officials familiar with the incident.
One official said the cyber breach was one of Beijing’s most brazen cyber attacks against the United States and highlights a failure of the Obama administration to press China on its persistent cyber attacks.
Disclosure of the cyber attack also comes amid heightened tensions in Asia, as the Pentagon moved two U.S. aircraft carrier strike groups and Marine amphibious units near waters by Japan’s Senkaku islands.
China and Japan—the United States’ closest ally in Asia and a defense treaty partner—are locked in a heated maritime dispute over the Senkakus, which China claims as its territory.
The latest from Election Integrity Maryland.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 1, 2012
VOTING FROM THE GRAVE IN MARYLAND
According to Cathy Kelleher, president of EIM, “Over the past seven months, we have submitted our findings to Maryland local and State Boards of Elections, and still await their confirmation that appropriate action has been taken to make sure our voter rolls are up-to-date in accordance with federal and state laws.”
“There is still time to clean up our voter rolls in this state before the November election,” Kelleher continued. “Indeed, they need to be clean before early voting starts on October 27. Time is of the essence.”
Election Integrity Maryland is researching Maryland’s voter registration rolls, using publicly available information. Since February, they have submitted more than 11,000 irregularities in the voter rolls to the MD State Board of Elections and to local Boards of Elections in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. The Boards still are investigating the group’s findings.
Thank God Univision is willing to do the job the American lame stream media won’t do. Thank you to people like Katie Pavlich and Mary Chastain who have been warriors for truth and working to expose the ugliness that is the Fast and Furious scandal from Day 1. If you haven’t read Katie’s book, Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal and the Shameless Cover-Up, you need to, order it here. Thank you to Paul Ryan standing up and saying Holder needs to go. I hope and pray we are closer to achieving justice.
(The Blaze) On Sunday night, the Spanish-language Univision News aired a “bombshell” hour-long report on their investigation into Operation Fast and Furious, revealing brand new evidence of international weapons smuggling by the U.S. government.
In other words, Univision News took on the job that the mainstream media in the U.S. has failed to do thus far. They also displayed extremely disturbing images of the bloody carnage that occurred as a result of the misguided program.
Here are some things you didn’t know about Operation Fast and Furious and other gun-walking operations.
1. 57 Previously Unreported Guns From Fast and Furious Discovered
One of the most explosive revelations made in the Univision News special involves 57 previously unreported firearms from Fast and Furious that were reportedly used in a number of murders and kidnappings.
After cross-referencing the serial numbers of guns used in Fast and Furious against guns confiscated in Mexico, Univision found that about 100 guns were used in crimes and 57 of the guns were not included in an official congressional investigation.
Quite an interesting article. Free speech is free speech, but it certainly seems like there’s more to this story.
(CNN) – A Mormon blogger in Florida typed his way into national headlines when he recently went public about facing possible disciplinary action from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
David Twede, who says he’s a fifth-generation Mormon, is the managing editor of MormonThink.com, an online publication that invites debate and open discussion about the LDS Church.
Late last week, The Daily Beast reported that after writing articles critical of GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Twede, 47, said he was called into church offices in Orlando, Florida, where he was “interrogated” and given “cease and desist” orders.
At the end of this meeting, Twede says on his personal blog that he was handed a letter, which he has posted online. The letter, which spells his name incorrectly, requests that he appear before a disciplinary council on September 30. It states that he is being considered for disciplinary action “including the possibility of disfellowshipment or excommunication, because you are reported to have been in apostasy.”
Twede admits that what’s driving this prospective spiritual slap-down seems to be a matter of debate. Was it Twede’s criticism of Romney or something else?
Who is Rob Sobhani? Do we really know? With the results of the latest Gonzales Maryland poll, there has been a lot of ‘buzz’ about this supposed ‘independent’ candidate. I say ‘supposed’ because I don’t think he’s quite as independent as he’d like people to believe. There have been quite a few telling articles on Mr. Sobhani since he started plastering his TV ads all over Maryland. Anthropocon led the charge with his article about Sobhani’s role in ‘selling’ brutal regimes for CNN. Then Brian Griffith’s of Red Maryland expands on Sobhani the ‘Cronyist’ and features a very interesting and somewhat heated Twitter exchange between Griffith’s and Sobhani. Way to stand your ground Brian!
A few days later, Mark Newgent, also of Red Maryland presents some very intriguing information about the firm Sobhani’s campaign hired for signature gathering. A 30% rejection rate is pretty significant, wouldn’t you say?
Today, Michael Schwartz posted The Sobhani Story on Monoblogue. Michael makes this very important point, on if Sobhani does pull out a win in the Senate race:
So let’s say Sobhani defies the odds and pulls the upset. Will he caucus with the Republicans because that’s his traditional political home and the side from which he seems to be pulling more support, or will he caucus with the Democrats based on the fact his Senior Senator is in that caucus? Or will he wait and see other results so he can gravitate to the winning side? Imagine the scenario of Mitt Romney winning the White House but the Democrats controlling the Senate by a 50-49 margin – will he sell his position to the highest bidder like just another business deal?
Mr. Sobhani can tug at heart strings with his TV ads, playing on the emotions of people who are disillusioned with both parties, but it’s my hope and prayer that the people won’t be taken advantage of. They will do the research, they will read the information presented about Mr. Sobhani, and recognize there are some key points to remember:
- We all know government is broken, there is no question about that. The best we can do is align ourselves with the candidate who’s values and principles align the closest with ours.
- The middle class is struggling, we know this as well. Which of these three candidates is actually able to relate to that struggle? Cardin, who’s been in office for 45 years and who’s accomplished very little except building his massive war chest of campaign funds? Sobhani, a millionaire with questionable ties to foreign entities, who decided instead of buying a house with his ‘jackpot’, he’d decide to run for Senate? Or Dan Bongino, the family man, the small business owner, who walked away from a secure career and retirement with the Secret Service to run this race and represent the people of Maryland, because he believes in us?
- Dan Bongino is not just working to represent the middle class, he IS the middle class. We cannot go from an out of touch career politician to an out of touch millionaire with special interests who wants to buy his way into a Senate seat.
The choice is clear, it always has been. It’s time for real change, it’s time to be represented by someone who has a true focus on jobs and improving the economy. A family man, a man of God, a man who represents conservative values. That man is Dan Bongino, and he needs your support. Please visit www.bongino.com today and make a donation and sign up to volunteer. Dan has said from the beginning, this is OUR home, we cede NO ground. Let’s help him get to the finish line folks, this is a winnable race, we WILL be victorious in November!
